Youngbloods WA: A message from the President

Well, it’s been a while since the last Youngbloods event, but that doesn’t mean the committee hasn’t been working. In fact, get ready for the biggest winter Youngbloods has ever seen!

First up, we’ll have our annual movie night on July 9, tickets for which will go on sale this week. Watch this space for details. We can’t tell you what it is just yet, but we can say that it will be big, flamboyant and loaded with kugelsack (we don’t know what kugelsack is either, but I’m sure we’ll find out on July 9).

Next, with the assistance of Ross Tinney, the Bullshit Band Night will this year be hosted by Youngbloods.

I hear you all asking “But wait! Aren’t Youngbloods events for under30s?” Well, what I was going to say, before you so rudely interrupted,is just because it’s under the Youngbloods banner doesn’t make itexclusive. On the contrary, we welcome all contestants of all ages, andjust like last year it’s going to be a great night. Make sure you lockJuly 31 away in your diaries, more details to come soon.

We havetentatively booked in August 6, for a Cannes Lions Advertising Festivalretrospective with some of the guys who are there at the moment. PaulYole, Steve Lorimer and Tom Wilson (winners of The West Fellowship2008), Josh Edge and Ryan Albuino will all be there to share theirexperiences with us.

This will be done as an expression ofinterest, event. The size of the venue will depend on how many peoplewould like to come, so if you think it’s something you’d like toattend, please email myself or anyone on the Youngbloods committee orlet us know through the Youngbloods WA Facebook group.

Finally,the big one, the 2009 annual Winter Party will be held August 29. We’rekeeping everything top secret on this one at this stage, but all willbe revealed in due course.
