Youngbloods Make a Band Famous competition
Ever heard of the band Apache? Or 44th Sunset? Maybe Patient Little Sister? No? That’s because they’re still waiting for their big break, while working at Maccas’s, Woolies, your local bottle-o or HJ’s. Youngbloods and JumpClimb have chosen 6 local bands that they believe have the potential to be famous.
Youngbloods’ Make a Band Famous competition gives you the opportunity to work on a dream brief and push yourself creatively outside the boundaries of work and university. It provides an opportunity for skills to be recognized in a productive and creative way, whilst assisting young musicians with creative PR, advertising and marketing ideas to make them famous.
Your Make a Band Famous team must have no more than 6 members this can include any person involved in the campaign process from creative, planning, media to business management. A minimum of 50% of your team must be under 30, and registered Youngblood members. You’ll be given $500 from Youngbloods – no more. So be creative and pull some strings. If you’re lucky enough to be one of the three teams chosen at random to compete in the competition you’ll get the opportunity to pick the band you like the most – first in, best dressed.
All three campaigns will be tracked on Campaign Brief. The most successful band will be decided by the highest increase of Facebook likes on the bands existing pages. The winning team will receive a $200 bar card, and $200 towards a charity of the winner’s choice. Plus, the exposure you, your team and the campaign will get.
The winning teams will be announced at Youngbloods’ first gig of 2013 on February 22 at Geisha Bar, Northbridge where bands will perform live. Everyone’s invited to this party, so keep watch at facebook.com/Youngbloods.WA for ticket information and application forms. Make a Band Famous team applications close at 5pm on 23 Janurary.
Register with Youngbloods by emailing youngbloodswa@communicationscouncil.org.au and request to join.
