YOUNGBLOODS BLACK & WHITE PARTY
Friday August 8th marked the second event for the year on theYoungbloods WA calendar for 2008. The first annual winter party washeld at Universal Bar in Northbridge and was a massive success. Theevent sold out its 350-ticket capacity, an unheard-of result forYoungbloods WA, making it the biggest event in the organisation’shistory.
Themed ‘Black and White’, it didn’t seem to matter how you weredressed, since all who attended had a fantastic time. Attracted by thetwo live bands and $10,000 bar tab, people from all corners of theindustry were in attendance. Although agency personnel made up most ofthe guests, there was also a large number of clients, media reps and arecord number of 3rd year university students.
Organised by the fresh faces of the new Youngbloods committee, headedby President Adam Gootveld, the team went to extraordinary lengths toensure the event not only went off without a hitch, but was also anight to remember.
“We’re absolutely thrilled with the turnout for the Black and Whiteparty. Everyone is saying it was one of the best Youngbloods eventsever, and we couldn’t have hoped for smoother night or betterresponse,” said Adam Grootveld.
A big thank you also needs to go to Universal Bar for housing the nightand ensuring the responsibility and safety of all the attendees.
The biggest thanks, however, goes to all those who purchased tickets tothe party. Everyone arrived in the highest of spirits and it trulyshowed throughout the night, whether it was at the bar, on the terraceor on the dance floor. It was the event of the season for the youth ofthe advertising industry. The enthusiasm for Youngbloods this year hasbeen overwhelming and the committee will endeavour to give members goodreason to keep that enthusiasm alive.
The committee is already working on plans for the Youngbloods Xmasparty, which promises to be even bigger than the winter event.
“It’s not going to be an easy task to outdo this effort, but we canassure all Youngbloods members that the annual summer Xmas event willbe unlike anything Youngbloods WA has ever seen,” Adam said.
Finally, the Youngbloods team would like to thank the followingsponsors, without whom none of this year’s events would be possible:92.9, The West, Stockman, Getty Images, Curtin University, Cineads,Meerkats and Daniel’s.

Was a top night, looking forward to the xmas party.
Gotta love how everyone is discussing this party in the ‘Curtin Uni moves to The Brand’ posting… random.
Checked out more of the pics on facebook. So there were 300 people who turned up yet there’s one redhead who simply has to have her face in almost EVERY SINGLE PHOTO? In fact, the few shots she didn’t appear in are here! It was a great night and I’m sure she’s the life of the party but come on, other people turned up as well… apparently! Can we please see some shots of them?
Aaaw, come on now… that’s not very nice 🙂 Stop with the ranga hate! I put my photos up on our Facebook page like the good little Youngbloods committee member that I am and I think you’ll find more people have now followed suit which is great… check them out! Please keep them coming guys and show people what a fantastic night it was. Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a success (big ups to committee members Elliott Woolf and Chris Baker who worked extra hard on this one) and stay tuned for the xmas party we’re planning as we speak, it’s going to be massive! DG
Wow I feel like a real shit now, I didn’t realise they were your personal shots. I’m sorry. Really. Thanks for organising it and next time there’s a gig, I’ll send you a drink over. Anonymously, of course 😉
