Western Australian digital media ideas will be launched into reality when the internationally acclaimed digital media think-tank X|Media|Lab is presented in Perth in April next year. X|Media|Lab directors Megan Elliott and Brendan Harkin will be in Perth for a briefing session followed by a networking event on Friday August 13, 2010.

Briefing session:

When: 3:00-4:30pm Friday, August 13

Where: Theatrette, Art Gallery of WA, Perth Cultural Centre (Entry via James St Mall)

About X|Media|Lab and XML Perth

X|Media|Lab is the internationally acclaimed digital media think-tank that helps teams or companies to get their own digital media product ideas successfully to market.

XML Perth will explore these questions and more:

• What projects have placed the user as the collaborator, breaking down traditional notions of the ‘creator’ and ‘owner’?

• How to develop 360º commissioned material for audiences that are consumers and creators?

• How do public institutions (e.g. libraries, universities, museums,galleries and archives) make their collections fully accessible to thepublic to enable new creative ideas and products to be developed?

Who should attend XML Perth?

Artists and arts companies who have an idea suited to a digitalplatform such as mobile or online. All media and creative industriesprofessionals and entrepreneurs: producers, creatives, businessstrategists and executives across all digital media content, includingvirtual worlds, social media, digital music, digital cinema, IP TV,online video, mobile content, computer games, and animation working inentertainment, information and education industries.

Artists and designers: You might already be creating work that has alife in a gallery or on stage; this is your opportunity to thinkthrough how your ideas might be reborn on a digital platform.
