Win a trip to Cannes in the News Ltd Young Lions Media, Creative and Cyber competition
The 2010 News Limited Young Lions competition launched nationwide today, with the search now on for the best young advertising and media talent to compete. Its aim is to identify the hottest upcoming talent from Australia to go on and compete against other national representatives in the worldwide Young Lions Competition held in Cannes at The International Advertising Festival in June.
It’s open to entry from WA agencies with the competition challenging young professionals who are at the start of their careers in the media, advertising and marketing communications industry.
The News Limited 2010 competition has undergone some exciting changesto better prepare the ultimate winners for the Cannes experience. Thisyear the competition will follow a first and second round format acrossthe media, print and cyber categories.
• The first round will challenge entrants to develop a response to abrief by the entry deadline, these will be judged by panels of industryspecialists to determine finalists. Importantly entrants into the cybercategory are only required to storyboard their idea in the first roundrather than creating a live execution online.
• Selected finalists for all three categories will go on to compete inthe second round where a 24-hour brief will be issued, simulating theCannes Young Lions format.
• Conducted by Metta Group, all media finalists will receive a one day’High Impact Presenting’ program, focused to develop each presenter’sauthentic style to maximise impact for the remainder of the competitionand their career.
• A team of six winners (two from each of the Media, Print and Cybercategories) selected from the 24 hour challenge will representAustralia in Cannes.
Winning teams will receive return flights to Nice, accommodation and aYoung Lions registration to the Cannes Festival with access to all theseminars, awards ceremonies, showcases and the Young Lions party. TheYoung Lions registration also allows them to participate in the YoungLions Zone which includes ten master classes and interactive kiosksshowcasing winning work from the worldwide Young Lions competitions.
2010 is News Limited’s third year of association with the CannesAdvertising Festival as the official Australian representative andtheir support of the Young Lions competition demonstrates theircommitment to fuelling creativity within the media and creativecommunities.
