JuliaEB.jpgMarketforce art director Julia Elton-Bott is heading to Whybin/TBWA/Tequila, one of Sydney’s top agencies, where she will work under joint ECDs Matty Burton and Dave Bowman, formerly of The Glue Society and Droga5.

She said she was very excited and looking forward to working with Burton and Bowman.

The move is not unexpected. It was foreshadowed in August when it was announced Elton-Bott’s fiancee, Ryan Albuino,  was joining Clemenger BBDO with creative partner Andrew Chu. Albuino and Elton-Bott are getting married in November, after which she will join him in Sydney.

Elton-Botthas been one of Perth’s leading creatives for the last five years. Hercareer kicked off on a high note when she won AWARD School in WA andnationally (the only WA winner to do so) in 2003. She has regularlybeen in the top 10 of Campaign Brief WA’s Creative Rankings and was #3on this year’s list.

She has won Campaign Brief’s ‘The WestAustralian Caxton Creative Exercise’ 4 times and went within a whiskerof making it 5 in a row this year. Impressively, those wins were with 3different writers and 4 different clients: Paul Coghlan (Zu – 2006),Murray Laird (Lotto – 2007 & Crimestoppers – 2008) and Guy Howlett(IKEA – 2009).

Meanwhile, Gatecrasher senior writer Tom Wilson has resigned from the agency andwill join Meerkats from November. Wilson has been with Gatecrasher for18 months, having joined them from Marketforce in early 2009.

Wilson’s move is a small one distance-wise. Meerkats’ office in Subiaco is just 100 metres or so from Gatecrasher.
