BS_area1.jpgThe past two years have been years of development and change for Brainestorm. In a relatively short time, the company has doubled in size and greatly expanded it’s service range.

Brainestorm is now fully equipped, both in staff and hardware, to tackle all casting, radio production, TV production, feature length projects, documentaries and any music composition challenges presented. From mixing the soundtrack to the Austereo Skyshow to mixing and scoring a feature length film, Brainestorm has seen extensive growth and development in the past 24 months.

Recently, the studio has been given the opportunity to work with some of Perth’s top tier clients.

PostFeature_CBWA_May2014_BLOG.jpgThey were afforded the chance to compose consecutive sound tracks for City of Perth ‘Get to Know Me’ campaigns, with the most recent being directed by The Penguin Empires’ Rob Forsyth. Lotterywest, via Meerkats/Beautiful Pictures (Renee Webster), contracted Brainestorm to create 11 original compositions for the current round of community engagement TVCs and 303 approached Brainestorm for consecutive IKEA compositions.

They worked with Meerkats’ Paul Coghlan on creating a musical story for the P&N Bank ‘Boy Named Bank’ launch campaign. This was followed by the development of a musical sting for the subsequent P&N TVC and radio campaigns.

Also, the RAC and JWT allowed Brainestorm to creatively contort Waltz of the Flowers for their ‘Ballet’ spot. In October, they worked with Rare to help put the potato back on West Australian tables through their campaign for the Potato Marketing Corporation and early this year, Longtail and Lotterywest gave them the entertaining brief to score to a troupe of dancing roller skaters in their ‘Bejewelled’ spots.

Brainestorme 2 StudioDay1StudioArea.jpgThe past year has also seen the development of our long format reel. Brainestorm has worked closely with The WA Screen Academy aiding students in mixing their final year projects. In addition, the studio completed it’s first locally produced feature film. This entailed a complete score and 5.1 surround mix. Pre-production begins on a second film in June. ‘Zac and Me’, a ScreenWest funded comedy web series directed by Beautiful Pictures’ Paul Komadina, has begun production, with the first material due to be released in May.

Radio is still a big part of Brainestorm’s repertoire with various finalists both nationally & internationally with RAC, AA, Psaros, St. John and Smarter Than Smoking at the London International Awards, Campaign Brief Awards and the Australian Siren Awards.
