WA’s leading news-media organisation, The West Australian, is seeking a new team member for our insights department. Our business is growing and diversifying at an unprecedented rate and market intelligence plays a key role in positioning our print, digital and brand assets for the future.

This is an entry level role and duties include the analysis and presentation of market intelligence to support sales teams and other business units within the Seven West Media WA group.

The role offers the opportunity to develop your career and enhance your capabilities in media research to deliver insights that enable strong commercial outcomes for the business.

Required:

  • Degree in communications, marketing, commerce, or related discipline OR relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills
  • Ability to bridge the gap between data, information and insights

Desirable:

  • Relevant experience in media, advertising or research/data analysis
  • Degree includes units in statistics

Highly regarded

  • Familiarity with audience measurement software (e.g. emma, Asteroid, Nielsen)
  • Experience with digital media and digital audience metrics

ACCOUNT MANAGER – SALMAT

We are currently recruiting for an Account Manager to join our team based in Osborne Park. The Account Manager is responsible for managing and retaining a portfolio of existing customers, establishing and maintaining relationships to achieve continued sales growth and profit targets for the company.

This is great opportunity to join a passionate and energetic sales team and further develop your Account Management experience.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing a portfolio of accounts
  • Developing relationships with existing and new advertising agencies
  • Developing strategic sales opportunities for both new and existing clients
  • Achieving an acceptable level of profits and sales targets set by the Sales Manager
  • Keeping abreast of market trends, pricing, industry news and market intelligence
  • Maintaining clear lines of communication with existing clients to ensure client satisfaction
  • Assist in training and development of Account Coordinators and other Account Managers
  • Promoting the desired corporate image to the market place
  • Other responsibilities defined in Business Stream, Unit and Corporate Policies and Procedures

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relevant Account Management experience in a similar role
  • Proven sales ability including negotiation skills, presentations and excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated Relationship Management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually to meet KPI’s
  • Computer Literacy
  • An understanding and interest in the Australian media landscape
