ADVERTISING RESEARCH ANALYST (Full Time) – THE WEST AUSTRALIAN
We are seeking a proactive individual to join the research team at WA’s leading news-media organisation. The West Australian is growing and diversifying at an unprecedented rate and market intelligence plays a key role in positioning our print, digital and brand assets for the future.
Duties include the analysis and presentation of market intelligence, providing research support material and regular reports to our sales team and other business units within the Seven West Media WA group.
The successful applicant must have a solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, high level analytical and numerical skills, the ability to work to deadlines and strong written and verbal communication skills.
This is a challenging, fast paced role with the opportunity to learn and develop new skills.
Required:
- Degree in communications or related discipline and minimum two years relevant work experience.
Desirable:
- Experience in research/data analysis, media or advertising.
- Familiarity with audience measurement software (e.g. emma, Asteroid, Nielsen).
- Experience with digital media and digital audience metrics will be highly regarded.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS AND MARKETING MANAGER – ACTIV

Activ, a leading not-for-profit organisation in Western Australia, has supported people living with disability across the state for more than 60 years. With an annual turnover of $100M, Activ employs 1,200 staff to support nearly 2,500 people with disability to pursue a better life. The Chevron City to Surf for Activ is Activ Foundation’s major fundraising event with proceeds going to support people living with disability across Western Australia.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Community Relations and Marketing Manager who is both strategic and hands-on, to lead the marketing, communications, community relations and fundraising activities during a period of significant organisational and sector change.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, Strategy, this pivotal role will provide leadership, vision and strategies to deliver on Activ’s purpose, values and strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development and implementation of integrated community relations and marketing strategies and governance;
- Strategically managing and developing the organisation’s brand to create competitive advantage in a rapidly changing and expanding marketplace;
- Guiding and developing strategic communications, and communication channels, to deliver targeted messages to relevant internal and external stakeholders;
- Providing leadership and strategic direction for the organisation’s major fundraising event, the Chevron City to Surf for Activ, as well developing and implementing innovative fundraising and marketing campaigns to support the event; and
- Providing leadership to a team of marketing and communications specialists, as well a small team of librarians, in the Activ Library.
To be successful you will possess:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively consult with and influence, a diverse range of people;
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management;
- At least 10 years’ experience in Marketing, Communications or Community Relations and Engagement with proven experience in a senior management role;
- A degree qualification in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations (or a related discipline) and a commitment to ongoing learning and development; and
- Experience leading a team that is results oriented.
- Experience in the not-for-profit and/or health sectors, with some exposure to a commercial environment will be highly regarded. A proven commitment to providing excellent customer service, teamed with a demonstrated background of managing a variety of stakeholders, is critical to your success in this role. With a pro-active attitude and the ability to influence at a senior level, you will work with the business to execute innovative solutions that meet business needs.
