You’re a Senior/Lead Developer

.Net, PHP, or a bit of both? You’re an experienced developer who’s looking to lead your own projects and people. If you’ve got a few sys admin skills up your sleeve, we’d like to see them too.

You have:

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER – DEPARTMENT OF MINES AND PETROLEUM

The position

This position is responsible for drafting and editing written material for internal and external publication. It also involves liaising with the media, ministerial office and other agency media advisors, as directed by the Communications Manager and General Manager. You will also be responsible for monitoring media issues and advising the Communications Manager of relevant matters.

Job Requirements/Capabilities

To undertake this role successfully you require:

  • Demonstrated experience in journalism, communications and/or public relations.
  • Strong writing ability and experience in liaising with media outlets.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Speechwriting experience would be desirable.
  • A relevant tertiary degree would be viewed favourably and previous Government experience would be an advantage.

Admin/Marketing Assistant

  • Acting as the main contact for client requests.

App Development Manager

The App Development Manager will be responsible for managing the development team to deliver high quality app/digital products for our clients – on time and on budget.

Your role will be varied and challenging, yet extremely rewarding. You will be the key interface between client requirements, the development team and senior management – so excellent communication skills and an ability to translate a client’s business requirements into actionable technical tasks is a must.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Liaising with the Account Managers and/or meeting with clients to translate their business requirements into technical requirements. This may include participating in workshops in conjunction with the Account Managers and the client.
  • Project scoping: including time estimates, technical requirements, timelines and deliverables.
  • People management – a team that includes iOS, Android and Windows Developers, Backend and Frontend web developers and QA.
  • Regular communication with Account Managers, designers, clients and senior management to keep them informed of progress and manage expectations.
  • Continual improvement of the development processes.
  • Managing the deployment of our clients’ apps/products.

You will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Understanding of mobile app (iOS, Android and Windows) and web development. You don’t need to be a gun developer, but you do need to be able to tell good code from bad.
  • Two years experience in a similar role (preferred but not essential).
  • Qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar (preferred but not essential).
  • Experience in delivering sophisticated mobile, web or IT related projects.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills.
