WA’s leading news-media organisation, The West Australian, is seeking a new team member for our insights department. Our business is growing and diversifying at an unprecedented rate and market intelligence plays a key role in positioning our print, digital and brand assets for the future.
Duties include the analysis and presentation of market intelligence to support sales teams and other business units within the Seven West Media WA group.
The role offers the opportunity to develop your career and enhance your capabilities in media research to deliver insights that enable strong commercial outcomes for the business.
Required:
- Degree in communications, marketing, commerce, or related discipline
- 1-2 years relevant work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills
- Ability to bridge the gap between data, information and insights
Desirable:
- Work experience in media, advertising or research/data analysis
- Degree includes units in statistics and/or advertising
Highly regarded:
- Familiarity with audience measurement software (e.g. emma, Roy Morgan/Asteroid, Nielsen)

What is the role?
One of Perth’s most sought-after marketing roles is now available due to team realignment. We are seeking an experienced marketing leader who has a proven track record in leading a team of both Digital and non-Digital Campaign Managers to achieve results. This senior position is a key member of the HBF Marketing team, is responsible for a team of five Campaign Marketers and Digital Consultants and acts as a 2IC to the Group Marketing Manager.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding driving customer insight led acquisition campaigns through a variety of marketing channels through a team of five reports who will help you deliver. As well as that, you’ll be leveraging the expertise of our very sizeable Marketing team.
You will have proven experience working in a commercially focused, results driven and high energy environment.
In this role you will:
- Be using your strategic, creative, digital and analytical skills to deliver our truly exceptional brand through integrated ATL and TTL campaigns.
- Show strong leadership and demonstrate that you love delivering best practice campaigns.
- Be using your critical mind to optimise our busy campaign calendar and ensure that our campaigns are translating the wealth of market insights we have available.
- Be engaging with people from across the business and our external agency partners – and you’ll do it all in your stride!
- Be building acquisition strategies for our markets and ensuring that creative and media is performing to its absolute potential.
- Know how to build and leverage a great brand and reinforce our brand’s value proposition into the acquisition campaigns that fall under you.
- Bring a solid background in acquisition and brand marketing form commercially focused B2C environments (minimum 10 years Marketing experience).
