We’re looking for a hands-on person to help manage digital projects for our diverse range of clients. WA Police Force – Marketing & Communications Officer
This is a pool recruitment process (Ref 00564). This pool will run for a period of 12 months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts, secondments, acting/relieving and permanent opportunities (full and part time).
The Corporate Communications division currently has one (1) full time temporary opportunity. This position is offered as a 12 month contract/secondment opportunity with the possibility of extension. The position is temporarily funded for a finite period.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position plans, develops and implements marketing and communication strategies, including advertising campaigns to recruit interested applicants to join the Western Australia (WA) Police Force.
APPLICATION PROCESS

Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work related requirements in no more than three (3) pages:
• Experience in marketing and advertising campaigns – Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate marketing and advertising campaigns, including developing collateral and content and managing budgets to promote the WA Police Force.
• Project management skills – Developing, implementing and evaluating marketing and advertising projects. Monitoring and reporting on project progress. Prioritising and managing multiple projects with strict deadlines.
• Communication skills – Writing marketing and communication strategies and plans, creative briefs, media releases, articles for publication, speech notes and preparing content for various communication channels. Preparing general correspondence, briefs, reports and recommendations to senior management.
Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV) (no more than 4 pages). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.
The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.
Please note: For applicants deemed suitable, all Essential Work Related Requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.
OTHER CONDITIONS
In addition to this vacancy, a POOL is being created to fill future vacancies that may arise within the metropolitan area. This POOL will remain active for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial appointment. Applicants who are assessed as ‘suitable’ at the completion of this process, will be placed in the POOL and may be considered for future permanent and temporary vacancies as they become available.
Once an applicant within the POOL accepts a permanent vacancy offer within the metropolitan area, that applicant will be removed from the POOL. Applicants who accept a temporary vacancy will remain in the POOL.
Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for this position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to this position may be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
