Tim Gossage and Madelaine Burke to lead new Breakfast show on Forever Classic 6iX in 2016
Forever Classic 6iX has announced that Channel 10’s Tim Gossage (far left) and Madelaine Burke (near left), formerly of Nova 93.7, will make up its new Breakfast Show for 2016.
Program Director Stuart Endersby said Good Morning Perth with Maddie and Goss will be a real adult breakfast show targeting the key 40-64 demographic.
“This show will be family friendly, relatable, fun and everything Perth.”
Burke was the breakfast newsreader with Nova 93.7 until just recently.
“I’m so excited to be given this opportunity. What we’re going to do is different to what Forever Classic 6iX has done in the past.”
General Manager Evan Broadway said it had been an exhaustive process putting their new show together.
“We are very serious about having Perth’s best adult breakfast show in 2016 for our listeners and clients. Tim is well known well in Perth and nationally through his work with Channel 10. Tim Gossage says “Breakfast radio is something I’ve always had a passion for and can’t wait to work with Maddie. We’ll be having a lot fun and I can’t wait to get stuck into it.”
Broadway thanked John Burgess for a great three years with the station.
“In my short time here, I’ve found John to be nothing but a true gentleman and professional. 50 years in the media is something John should be extremely proud of and celebrated. We wish him all the best with his future plans.”
The new Breakfast Show will commence in January 2016.

I stopped listening to 6PR because of Basil and now I have to listen to Tim! It’ll be bloody Eagles biased support again! Goodbye Tim. Dockers will be champs next year anyway. Hello ABC.
Why fix something that is not broken? Burgo is so easy to listen to in the morning- who wants to listen to two people competing for the lime light at 5.30am. It’s been great listening to you Burgo. Glad I’ve got my digital radio so I can wake up to you in the future.
A real adult show that’s family friendly?
I am really going to miss listening to Burgo in the mornings. After all that’s the reason I was listening to the show, to get away from the breakfast talkback shows of the other radio stations.
Of course I love the music too. Good luck John with everything.
It’s an absolute disgrace to replace Burgo, he is fantastic to listen to in the morning.
Well done 6ix, you’ve just sold out, now we will have to endure commercial drivel and endless boring conversations about AFL.
Leave Burgo alone, give him a new contract. Listen to what the people want, instead of worrying about being the most popular.
6IX is making a big mistake in letting Burgo go. I ll be changing radio stations, as I don’t want to listen to the voice of Tim Gossage at 5.30 in the morning.
6iX has always been adverse Rugby.. but Burgo was entertaining, and it’s a shame to see him go.
To wait for any coverage of the Western Force, although a Perth team, and has must have a wider support base than the Wild Cats, would be totally futile. I hope I am proved wrong..
There is room for all Perth Teams..so come on 6iX give ALL Perth teams all a fair go!!

Waking up to Burgo every morning has been the most pleasant way to start the day all year through. Sure hope to join you again soon Burgo, wishing you and your family all the very best for the future? If there is a station out there wanting to improve their morning ratings give Burgo a call. 🙂
