THE OTHER SIDE OF CANNES – PART 5
Paul Yole, Strategic Planning Director of The Brand Agency sends his blog from the Lions.
I must be working too hard. There was a glaring spelling error in my last blog, very embarrassing. So I took it easy today and met up with 60 other ANZACs at La Colombe d’Or restaurant in St Paul de Vence.
Tony Bennett must have heard about our gathering because he gatecrashed the party. It was a great way to catch up with some old friends and make some new ones in a fabulous setting. Thanks to Paul and John at Marketforce for hosting our table.
Last night was nearly a wash out for the opening gala, but thankfully the storm dumped its worst before the party started. Tonight is the Getty Images party. Thanks to Rachel Dennis for organising tickets.
I read some of the comments in response to my thoughts about Perth’s award performance. Well-structured arguments but still a tad negative for my liking. I’m not saying the writers are wrong, only that if we don’t aim high we’ll go nowhere. At least we had our biggest haul of WA finalists this year.
I did speak to one of the judges today about tips for next year. For a fee, I’ll share the secrets.

Couldn’t agree with you more about the negativity. We should be proud of our efforts and keep pushing harder for next year.
