New campaign for the City of Perth encourages everyone to Thursday Like We Friday!

CoP_Tex_BLOG_2.jpgThe Brand Agency has recently launched a new campaign on behalf of City of Perth ratepayers entitled Let’s Thursday Like We Friday. The campaign, as its name suggests, is designed to get people to take a different look at Thursdays and stay in the city after work. By doing so they can take advantage of some great deals on offer across 52 of the City’s best restaurants, bars and entertainment venues.

The campaign was born from the insight that Thursday just isn’t recognised for what it is, a great night of the week. Better than Wednesday and in the same league as Friday! The idea has a dry sense of humour, with tongue firmly placed in cheek to create a personality for Thursday that will get people to sit up and take notice.

The centrepiece of the campaign is a ‘manifesto’ delivered in his signature gritty style by Tex Perkins of 90s band The Cruel Sea.

Delivered via Catch Up TV, social media and digital placements it is complemented by a radio promotion with NOVA93.7, press, radio spots and out of home. All designed to speak directly to the audience of workers in the City.

Nick Bayes, General Manager at The Brand Agency added, “I love how the team have brought to life the insight for this campaign. It would have been very easy to just run a standard retail campaign, but we took a different angle and have given Thursday a great personality, a personality that you warm to and want to get to know. It’s provided the best possible platform to deliver the retail offers. The support of the venues getting on board with the campaign and embracing the idea has been fantastic.”

The campaign runs until Thursday, March 9.
