The Box continues winning ways at AMI Awards
The Brand Agency has won another award for its creation and marketing of The Box for Curtin University, this time at the State finals of the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) Awards for Marketing Excellence, announced last Thursday.
The Box won in the Education category but the awards were dominated by another university, Murdoch, which won 4. The winners were:

This AMI Award brings up a trifecta of wins for The Brand Agency andThe Box having already won gold at last month’s Australian Effie Awardsand a bronze at last year’s PADCs. The Box is also a finalist in the2010 ADMA Awards.
The Brand Agency worked closely with Longtail and Curtin’s digitalmedia unit to create The Box, which helped the university reverse a twoyear decline in its market share of school leaver first preferences anddouble its market share growth objective.
The state winners go on to compete as national category finalists,along with direct-entry national programs adjudged to meet thestandards and criteria. The national category winners and the overallMarketing Program of the Year will be announced and presented at a galadinner as part of the Institute’s Annual Conference on 13 October atthe Sofitel Hotel in Melbourne.

The very fact that the insipid vividwireless launch campaign picked up sets the bar equally low for everything else.
