The 30 best ads of Campaign Brief’s 30 years. 2008: Perth Zoo ‘Find Your Animal’ radio
Campaign Brief WA turns 30 this month, so over the thirty days of June we’re looking back and choosing the best ad done in each of our 30 years.
The Brand Agency’s ‘Find Your Animal’ radio campaign for Perth Zoo is one of WA’s most awarded ad campaigns ever.
It kicked of in 2008 with 6 executions, written by Josh Edge (pictured) and Kurt Beaudoin. Lil’ Penguin was regarded as the standout but we think Black Capped Capuchin is the pick of them. It’s more subtle; perfectly read by the talent and superbly produced by radio maestro Ralph Van Dijk. Small Clawed Otter is another masterpiece of understated delivery and the sign-off on Frill Necked Lizard is comedy gold.
This first campaign won AWARDs, Sirens, a Clio, finalist at One Show and In Book at D&AD. It set the standard for subsequent phases, which have also gone on to plenty of success.
There was some reasonable work done in ’08 but this is the campaign that has stood the test of time. Brilliant radio.
