The 30 best ads from Campaign Brief’s 30 years. 2010: Alcoholics Anonymous ‘Work’
Campaign Brief WA turns 30 this month, so over the thirty days of June we’re looking back and choosing the best ad done in each of our 30 years.
Hmm…2010. Tricky.
The new Perth Zoo ‘Find Your Animal’ radio commercials by The Brand Agency’s Josh Edge and Rikki Burns were very, very good. ‘Slender Tailed Meerkat’ actually won the national Silver Siren for best single radio ad, but we’ve already given that campaign a nod for 2008 so (with apologies to Josh & Rikki) let’s share the love.
The popular pick in our end of year review was Marketforce’s ‘Crusty Challenge’ for Mrs Mac’s, created by a cast of thousands (OK 5 – Andrew Tinning, Murray Laird, Guy Howlett, Steve Lorimer and Nathan Teoh).
It was seen as being something of a breakthrough for Perth, being a primarily online-driven campaign with TV and print support. It got over a million views on YouTube and was featured on Nine Network’s Today show nationally.
But the Alcoholics Anonymous TV campaign by Gatecrasher holds up especially well. The campaign was created by Adam Barker & Lori Canalini, and directed by The Penguin Empire’s Grant Sputore with Allan Myles as DOP, which explains it looked so good.
