Staccato animates Muresk Institute for Rare

Perth’s Staccato 3D Animation has completed a new project for Muresk Institute via Rare.

Part of the Department of Training and Workforce Development, Muresk Institute is a training, education and research facility situated in the Wheatbelt, dedicated to supporting the growth of a skilled rural workforce. The video communicates the range of courses it hosts.

Staccato principal Paul Siciliano completed the production over 4 weeks, working from storyboards created by Rare art director, Liz Hammond and copywriter, Steve Brown.

The first stage involved ‘building’ the characters, the set and all assets. Upon receiving the voice-over, a rough shaded view animation was done for timing. Some still frames were produced to get the final look signed-off before moving into the final animation stage – render and compositing all elements, adding post effects and grading.

With audio created by Brainestorm, the vision was re-striped and final files provided for web use.

Besides 90- and 60-second versions, Siciliano also created a 360º 3D stereoscopic version as a showcase for Staccato’s capabilities.

“This was a great production to be involved with,” said Siciliano. “Working with the Rare team was a real pleasure and I’m super-pleased with the result.”
