SIX ACTS ALREADY BOOKED TO STAR IN THE PADC BULLSHIT BAND NIGHT
The response to the upcoming Bullshit Band Night has been very strong according to organiser, Ross Tinney. Already six “bands” have booked to take part in the fun night. Taking part are acts from The Brand Agency, 303, Cooch, Rare, Workhouse and the Doug Hampton Allstar Band (who sound like the act to beat at this early stage). There is room for another band or two and it will be interesting to see if Marketforce, Meerkats or Gatecrasher rise to the challenge.
In the 80s and early 90s the Bullshit Band night used to be one of the great nights of the year attracting around 300 people to enjoy some very talented and very creative acts. Get along if you can as it will be a lot of fun.
The Bullshit Band Night will be held at the Floreat Hotel on Friday August 22nd.
The cost is only $20 (covers entry and food). Book your tickets with Liz Bindon Bonney.

No wonder Marketforce haven’t got a band. Driscoll, Mitchell, Nelson, Robinson, Tinning and not a musical bone between them. Meerkats and Gatecrasher? Are you kidding Campaign Brief. Spare us!
Maybe they have other talents they can share. And who the fuck are you anyway, the Dean Martin of Perth advertising?
Meerkats and Gatecrasher will probably have a band, it’s not like they’re back at the agency working late at night on their ads. Harsh but true.
What about a few Doobie Brothers tunes Ric?
What is it with you people? You think you have to work ‘late at night’ to write good ads? How good are those ads gonna be when you realise you’ve been living in an ad-land bubble with no interaction with the real world, let alone other annoyances like partners and family. Get over yourself mate.
11.02 – you are working too late yourself!
Easy mistake to make 11.02. We have reposted your comment in the correct story.
I was in fact referring to 10.01.
Sorry 11.02. All fixed.
No probs.
I love being referred to as a number, makes me feel like a secret ad-agent. Sad isn’t it?
One day I’ll sign in, but for now, I’m having to much fun to lose my anonymity.
“Marty Braine come on down!”
10/4
11.02, you hit the nail on the head. Number 1 reason to leave the ad industry; to get a life.
And GC could get a band together I reckon, there’s still a recording floating around from a Christmas a few years back as far as I know. The staff may have changed a bit but the culture is still pretty steady from what I hear.
Just for a topic change, I’d like to comment on the Brand’s latest RAC tvc where the objects are moving around the house. What an awesome ad, hats off to whoever (obviously) slaved over that. (Sorry 11.02, there probably were a few late nights spent on that one, unfortunately for most creatives, it DOES seem to require an extra commitment of time at some point in your career to achieve greatness). Anyway, just wanted to say something positive for once. And no I don’t work for the Brand, though after that spot I’d quite like to.
hahaha cheers 2.20. We’ll take the incredibly odd-placed compliment.
Wow, people are still posting here. No problems Josh, yeah I like the ad. Now that you’re here, why not satisfy our curiosity? Are you indeed home every night in time to watch Neighbours and catch up with Toady and friends, or do you ocassionally have to, you know, do the odd bit of thinking after hours? I know you have kids so I’m interested in how you juggle it. For me, good ads don’t always show themselves before 5.
