Seven West Media has embraced finals fever and immortalised West Coast Eagles hero Josh Kennedy in a piece of commissioned street art, painted overnight on Saturday.

In a show of support, The West Australian and Channel Seven commissioned street artists Shakey and Art by Destroy to paint a mural of Kennedy on Saturday at the newly-opened 21st Amendment Bar in Leederville, straight after the Eagles’ historic preliminary final win.

The artists worked throughout the night to finish in time for the big reveal at dawn. Using the cross-platform power of Seven West Media (WA), the art was revealed on Seven’s Sunrise on Sunday morning and word quickly spread with fans arriving from 8am to take a photo with the mural.

An exclusive time lapse video of the mural being painted featured on thewest.com.au and a photo of the artists Shakey in front of his work made the front page of The West Australian on Monday.

Opportunities to be a part of the finals are available through Seven West Media with coverage in The West Australian all week, The Front Bar grand final edition on Seven Thursday at 8.30pm, the 2018 Toyota AFL Grand Final live on Seven from 9am Saturday, a full wrap up in The Sunday Times the following day, and up-to-the-minute online coverage across thewest.com.au and PerthNow.
