SEEN+NOTED: NEW IKEA PRINT WORK AND ST JOHN AMBULANCE COMMERCIAL
While surfing the net today Campaign Brief noticed two Perth ads on www.bestadsontv.com.
The first is an IKEA print execution promoting storage solutions. This ad is particularly interesting as it came out of a concept submitted to the recent West Australian Caxton Creative Exercise competition (see Campaign Brief WA, August, page 37-41). Originally submitted using half page ads, the published ad uses two full page ads with the only copy on the first page being “Slide to open”.
The second ad we noticed is a new St John Ambulance TVC from Rare Creative Thinking encouraging parents to learn first aid.

Both are tops.
I’m a young father and the tvc talked to me from the first frame. (The idea could translate to a great print campaign too. )
Good no-nonsense work.
Well done. Nice ad.
And with the IKEA TV ad in Best Ads’ ‘best of the week’ also involving Rich and Rob, they are both officially the Kings of the World. We salute you, Joint Kings of the World
nice one, a little wardrobe to put my pet hamsters clothes in.
Nice idea but my only problem is that the punter reading the Karratha Times in his hurry for the beer specials might not get this. Ah, but this is aimed at award judges, isn’t it?
Good on you for the selection but don’t go popping the champagne yet 2.55.
Compare this week’s top 6 to the 6 from last week. It was a bad week – you know it, I know it, and sure as hell Kim knows it!
Ah! 9.44pm. How we love the smell of fresh-cut tall poppy in the morning, too. Well done for your small, anonymous, personal victory on the blogs. Make sure you show the other guys in the office and that girl in finance you’ve had your eye on, too. Moments like this need to be shared.
OK it’s a bit scammy but good on 303 for showing initiative and getting that ikea ad up. As for that St John ad. It’s average and leaves no impression on the viewer. This was an opportunity to do something good and Rare failed to deliver.
“Kings of the World. We salute you, Joint Kings of the World” – sounds like you could do with a bit of cutting 6.46am.
On bestadsontv and the Australia blog there is only one name down on the credits yet in the latest mag there are two names. Is this a typo CB?
(with my tongue firmly in my cheek) it takes two writers and two art directors to write a little radio ad so there must be more than one involved in this!
You’re a very funny man 2.34.
Love the comments section CB!
congrats boys! rich and mark you boys have done a great job tho you both can’t be kings! who will be the queen?
Yeah I’m sure McTavish was credited on the Caxton comp entry for the wardrobe. Mind you that was a half page so I guess that turning it into a full page negates his involvement. Pretty ‘rich’ if you ask me.
High five Mitch and Ally. A solid ad for a tough category.
