Tony Scampoli the new Chairman of TCC in WA

Following The Communications Council’s annual general meeting, Managing Director of Gatecrasher, Tony Scampoli (pictured), has been appointed Chairman of The Communications Council in Western Australia, taking over the role this month from Al Taylor, who held the position since 2010.


Having been Deputy Chair since 2010 and bulit his career in WA, Scampoli has gained a deep understanding of the issues facing agencies and marketing communications professionals in the state. He will focus on continuing the growth in local membership by concentrating largely on the services and resources available, particularly for smaller agencies and individual members in the Western Australian market.

Broadening education and development options will be high on the agenda, with plans to boost involvement and activity between the industry and local universities, following the success of a recent partnership with Curtin University. Legal and regulatory training will also be a focus, as well as ensuring industry representation through strong and continued government engagement.


“I am extremely passionate about the marketing communications work being produced in Western Australia and the positive contribution being made to brands here and throughout the country,” said Scampoli. “We have seen our membership base grow rapidly in the past year, reflecting a very engaged member base and positive response to the services we offer. I hope to see this enthusiasm continue to grow.”



Colin Mackay-Coghill, Senior Partner at Marketforce, and Gavin Bain, Managing Director of Meerkats have both taken on the title of Deputy Chair to form an Executive Committee to ensure appropriate representation for the increase in corporate members. The Executive Committee will meet in addition to the quarterly Council meetings which will maintain open participation by all member agencies.
