Savage new editor for The Sunday Times as Dore heads to The Courier Mail in Brisbane

RodSavage_BLOG.jpgCurrent editor of The Sunday Times, Chris Dore, is moving to Queensland.

Dore has been appointed editor of The Courier-Mail in Brisbane as part of a series of editorial changes announced by News Limited.

He joined The Sunday Times in April last year and has been credited with delivering an energised paper across print and digital channels.

Dore will be replaced by Rod Savage (pictured), who will move to Perth as editor of The Sunday Times. In recent times Savage has been leading the company’s editorial efforts for the development and launch of News Limited’s new digital offering news+

Savage started at The Advertiser in Adelaide, where he rose from cadet to features editor. After two years in London, where he worked as the deputy editor for The Time’s Educational Supplement’s Teacher magazine, he returned to Adelaide as founding editor of adelaidenow.com.au.

After a secondment to New York, working on News Corporation’s global collaboration website, Mr Savage returned to Australia as News Limited’s national new network managing editor. In 2012 he was appointed national network digital editor.
