Register now for the 2012 PADC Festival of Ideas
The PADC annual Festival of Ideas is taking place on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 September. This year’s scarily awesome venue is the historic Rose & Crown Hotel in leafy Guildford.
Once again, the Club has assembled a fantastic selection of inspiring world-class speakers. It has listened to members who asked if the Festival could have more speakers from digital and non-traditional backgrounds.
This year’s varied selection of keynote speakers includes:
Bradley Eldridge, Creative Director, Soap
Bradley Eldridge is a partner and creative director at Soap, one of Australia’s leading digital agencies. At work he helps define the online persona for brands such as 20TH Century Fox, 3 Mobile, Cornetto, Magnum, LYNX and Rexona. His love of graphic design, advertising and digital keeps him focused on making innovative work for brands with that squeaky clean Soapy polish. Soap’s recent work on the LYNX Anarchy campaign was awarded Best Creative Showcase at the 2012 IAB awards.
The Fully Sick Rapper (Christiaan Van Vuuren)
Christaan Vann Vurren worked at JC Decaux for four years before contracting tuberculosis while overseas. This led to a six month stay in a quarantined isolation room, where he began to create Youtube videos as an alter ego called ‘The Fully Sick Rapper. The videos went viral and received over 3 million views worldwide. Since then he has created more viral hits called ‘Bondi Hipsters’ with his stuntman brother.
Nick Garrett, Managing director, Colenso BBDO
Nick Garrett is Australian-born but was raised in the UK and started his career as a graduate trainee in London. After working at two very successful agencies there, he moved to Sydney with TBWA\ChiatDay working on accounts such as Sony Playstation, Mars and Absolut. Five years later, he relocated to the US before returning to Sydney to join BMF and then Colenso BBDO. Nick’s approach has been to harness the power of creativity to produce great outcomes for clients. And this year at Cannes, Colenso BBDO picked up a record 12 Lions.
Jonathan Samway, Managing Director & Executive Producer, Prodigy Films
Jonathan and Prodigy have worked with some of today’s most notable directors, and have created a wide body of commercials, music videos and films. Their experience and knowledge has been put to good use, solving some of the toughest production briefs. Recent work includes commercials for Nissan, Toyota, Fosters, Hyundai and FedEx, to name a just a few.
