Red Rooster appoints Naked Communications as its new full-service creative agency partner ending ten year relationship with 303Lowe
Naked Communications Australia has won the full-service creative account for Red Rooster following a competitive pitch.
Starting on 1 July 2014, Naked will take responsibility for all of the creative and PR requirements for the brand. The move in creative agencies aligns with a re-location of the majority of the Red Rooster marketing department from Perth to Sydney. The account was previously held by 303Lowe Perth, which was appointed to the business in July 2004, but was moved to the Sydney office in recent months following the Red Rooster marketing department’s relocation.
Says Anna Jones, national marketing manager at Red Rooster: “We are very excited to bring Naked on board as our creative partner. Their energy and love for what they do is contagious and we knew they would be a perfect fit with our brand direction both current and future. Their fresh perspective, ability to think outside the box and push us past the boundaries of what we have done is critical to allowing the Red Rooster brand to evolve and grow.”
Says Carl Ratcliff, CEO of Naked Australia: “This is an extraordinary win for Naked. Red Rooster is an iconic Australian brand and possesses a special place in Australian hearts. We are delighted to have been asked to provide full service capability. We cannot wait to get our teeth into this wonderful bird.”

Commiserations to 303Lowe. I wish Red Rooster all the best in their adjustment to being a small fish in a very big pond – and being treated as such. Such is life…
Boomerang – just how much bigger is Naked Australia compared to 303Lowe?
Says more about where Naked is going than 303 I’d say.
They’re a huge global company, and the Sydney office has clients like Coke and Goodman Fielder and J&J. I haven’t worked for them but I’ve worked alongside them (we had mutual clients who insisted on it.)
Like any large agency with an extensive client list, you get your sexy clients who you can do the showy, award winning work for, and then you get your retail clients who are the bread and butter. They pay the bills but no one wants to work on them, for obvious reasons. So while the agency may insist this doesn’t happen, they’ll get a minimum of attention (comparatively) to the amount of money they funnel through and they won’t get the best creatives, because their energy is better spent elsewhere and decent creatives won’t take that gig anyway. Would you, if you could pick and choose?
Eventually the client cottons on, gets annoyed with being treated like the poor cousin and in a few years, the pitches start again. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Like I said, small fish, big pond.
Congratulations to the team at 303Lowe for keeping Red Rooster relevant for so long. I hope you find a way to turn the situation into a win.
Don’t care. The best ad for Red Rooster is the store on Stirling Highway after a hard day at work. Haven’t seen any ads for the place since that weird ‘if you see my little red rooster’ chick on the park bench back in the 90s, still drop in there every couple of weeks. Just don’t make me play a friggin iphone game or sit through a 30 minute film to get my chips.
