Ray Wardrop exits Seven
Channel Seven Perth Programming & Communications Manager Ray Wardrop (pictured) has resigned from the station.
Seven Perth Managing Director, Mario D’Orazio, announced Wardrop’s departure inan email to staff today:
“It’s with regret and disappointment that I advise Ray Wardrop is leaving the company. Ray’s been a real stalwart of Channel 7 Perth, a crucial part of our success. He’s chosen to leave to pursue his own business interests, and he goes with our thanks. Chris Wharton [Seven West Media CEO] has asked me to pass on his best wishes from all at Seven West Media: “Ray’s been hard working and loyal, a fantastic supporter of our company. We wish him every success in his new endeavours.” Ray’s going on a long-planned holiday tomorrow, but he’s agreed to come back in a couple of weeks and help ensure a smooth transition.”
Wardrop has had a long career in Perth media, including stints with The WestAustralian and Austereo. He joined Seven Perth as Programming &Communications Manager in 2003, and was the station’s General Manager from theend of 2008 until June 2011, when D’Orazio took over the role.
