Rare radio finalist at New York Festivals

It’s not listed on the official website but it looks like RARE Creativethinking has scored a finalist in the radio competition at the New York Festivals with its C.D.Dodd ‘Recycled Radio’ campaign (Best of Year at the recent Campaign Brief Awards).
NYF’s website lists only two finalists from Australia – GPY&R and Grey Melbourne – but writer Mitch Mitchell has received a finalist confirmation email from the Festival. Judging is underway and winners will be announced in July.

Good work rare.
love it – chris dodd has excellent manners
So this is what happens to those second tier shows when the big networks cut award budgets and focus only on Cannes, Clios, One show and D&AD
What a coincidence. I was told I was a finalist at D&AD for 6pp phones leaflet last year, too. Never showed up on the website or the in the book. Same goes for a 25×4 product recall ad that they said was up for titanium at Cannes. Not a word of it anywhere but in the letter. Which I can’t find now. Feel for you Mitch.
Nice one Mitch
Thanks 2.58, good to know my local buddies are here for me. Such overwhelming support.
And 2.15, you never know mate, the standard might be even lower next year and even YOU might get something up.
The New York Radio Festival counts for nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Well done guys. Whether it is one of the big 4 or not, it still has to beat some good competition and it is still great for Perth – assuming it is indeed a finalist. Mitch is it entered in Cannes and have you considered London International, which CB now gives points for?
Yes it is entered at Cannes.
Mitch has contacted the NYF since the finalists have been announced online and they have assured us it is a finalist. We’re confused also.
I love these ads. Such a great idea.
