Rare bowls WACA over with new signage installation for Perth Ashes Test

Phase 1 of the WACA ground signage update by Rare has been installed, just in time for the Perth Ashes Test starting today. It includes a major entry statement, a blade wall, full wayfinding for the general public and members, stand identification and more.

Rare’s Callum  MacKenzie said the number and variance in signs at the WACA was extraordinary.

“Our audit of the existing WACA signage identified over a thousand signs, all of them bereft of any personality. Our task was to not only create a signage system that reflected the new WACA brand, but to give the WACA ground a ‘voice’ through the language and icons we used.”

Phase 2 of the signage update, which will include a complete gate identity system, is due to be completed in time for the upcoming ICC World Cup.
