RAC_APC_BLOG.jpgThe RAC, one of Western Australia’s blue-chip and largest clients, has taken out Campaign Brief’s Advertiser of the Year award for the second year running. It’s a fantastic achievement for the RAC, who over this time have ended a long term relationship with The Brand Agency and fostered a new relationship with new agency, JWT Perth.

RAC’s performance at these Campaign Brief Awards, which included them winning Campaign Brief’s Campaign of the Year award for the “RAC Attention Powered Car” saw them get the nod over the iinet owned Internode (Marketforce) and Adventure World (Shed) to claim this prestigious award.

“RAC Attention Powered Car” is a world-first idea developed by JWT. It is a big idea that is a very worthy Campaign Brief Campaign of the Year winner. It not only promoted driver awareness, but the neuro-technology developed meant it also became the RAC’s very own mobile laboratory.

Marketforce had two finalists for this Award: Internode’s “The Geekies Promo in the Universe“, and the new HBF Rebrand campaign. Meerkats was also a finalist with Brownes Chill “The Flavours of WA”, as too were SHED for Adventure World “Abyss, the Chosen One“.

To recognise Perth’s talented smaller agencies this year Campaign Brief combined Small Agency of the Year to the Media Agency of the Year Award category. It proved a popular decision with eight of Perth’s smaller agencies submitting along with two of Perth’s Media agencies.

This year media buying consultancy Initiative triumphed with an outstanding business performance in 2013. Campaign Brief also received outstanding submissions from the finalists for this award – Ad Impact, AdZoo, BBAM and Block.

One of the Campaign Brief Awards most popular categories is the Supernova of the Year award. It was introduced in 2007 to acknowledge and recognise Perth’s outstanding young talent who have the potential to be the future leaders of our industry.

This year’s winner is Rare creative Matt Nankivell. It is the first year a creative has won this award and that’s because Nankivell has the potential to be one of Perth’s great creative names, should he choose to remain in WA or travel overseas. There were plenty of other great nominess in this category including: Kiara Ellis from Initiative, Georgie Frampton and Caitlin Moloney both from Meerkats, Kylie Macey from Adcorp, Jack Martin from Carat, Lauren Mestichelli from JWT, Luke Slater from Marketforce and Lucy Stoelwindeer from Gatecrasher.

Our Media Organisation of the Year Award saw Southern Cross Austereo (Mix94.5 and 92.9) bounce back to the top from seventh place last year. Whilst 2013 was a tumultuous year for the group with major on-air changes, they negotiated all that and grew their reputation and service within the industry. Media Tonic/oOh! Media came in in second place for the second time and Nova93.7 and Channel Nine were equal third.
