RAC STAGE TWO SET FOR EARLY DECEMBER
The RAC has pushed back the next round of agency meetings to early December in their agency credentials review process. The review is a closed tender involving 303, Marketforce and incumbent The Brand Agency.
Marketforce’s involvement is controversial considering they currently hold the conflicting SGIO account. Marketforce chairman John Driscoll said they spoke with IAG management, who are the parent company of SGIO in WA, before becoming involved. He said IAG understood Marketforce’s reasons for being involved and they wanted to continue the association in WA. He admitted that local SGIO management were not as understanding and had expressed some disappointment that the agency had taken up the offer to submit.

If it emerged that any other agency in Perth had a potential conflict, this blog would be full of outraged anonymous posters slagging them off. Funny how, when it is MF in the cross-hairs, those sorts of comments don’t materialise. Except for this one, obviously
What’s your point, 2:24?
So why didn’t you comment earlier 2.24?
But now that you have opened it up, I think why people have held back on this is because 303 and The Brand might well have made the same call as MF if the shoe was on the other foot. Personally I think this review is nothing more than a price check and RAC aren’t going anywhere.
Interesting thread. Anyone got any idea if the Burswood or IKEA reviews going on at the moment have thrown up any similar conflicts?
SGIO have every right to be pissed off. What happened to long lasting agency-client relationships?
11.12am.
Every agency is getting desperate as we head into recession. I guess MF just did the sums and worked out they’d be better off with the RAC than SGIO – especially given SGIO are now running work from over east. Not much fat on that one.
To 11.12am, this is actually not the case. All SGIO work you see in this market was concepted and produced by Marketforce, executing the Unworry brand idea to suit WA. Unworry as an idea was the result of a lot of work and close collaboration between all state agencies.
Brendon. Surely that is even more reason for them to be pissed off with MF?
