RAC puts creative advertising account out to tender (at last)
The much anticipated tender for the RAC’s creative advertising account has finally been announced.
In a statement released today, the RAC said it has commenced a formal tender process to identify a strategic and creative marketing partner to support the RAC Group and its businesses. The RAC has invited a select number of agencies to present their credentials including current partner The Brand Agency, as part of the first stage of the tender process.
From the credentials presentations a small number of agencies will be shortlisted and they will progress to a creative and strategic pitch stage. The RAC aims to make an announcement as to the successful partner by mid this year.
The tender process aims to identify a suitable full service agency that can offer integrated marketing solutions across a range of the RAC’s businesses including insurance and roadside assistance.
A separate tender for media services will be conducted after the completion of this process.
The RAC will be assisted through the process by experienced agency tender consulting firm Trinity P3.
The RAC considers the tender process, including the agencies involved, to be confidential and do not intend to make any further comment until the preferred partner has been identified – so there.

Who are the likely candidates for the initial invite and then the shortlist?
The way the RAC talk about this tender, you could be forgiven for thinking it was a tender to rewrite the bible. It’s an ad account! Anyway, nothing would please me more than to see the kats win this. After losing HBF the kats have the ‘creative’ and ‘suits’ in stock to output some fantastic work.
I’m pretty sure RAC will be choosing their next client from these comments so great plugs guys.
If they had any sense they’d stay with Brand!
