The Brand gives RAC Insurance a lot of help
RAC Insurance launched their new advertising campaign – ‘A lot of help’ – across TV, radio, print and out of home, on Sunday.
Building on the ‘Think About it’ campaign of 2008, the new campaign brings to life the experience, local knowledge and reliability of the insurance market leader, embodied in an RAC Assessor.

Love the 1950s suburban dreamscape. Nicely shot.
Great to see something really fresh from the Insurance industry for a change.
Really fresh?
I suppose you can tell how much we all like this spot by the dozens of comments.
Fresh??? This approach to insurance advertising is about as original as a paint by numbers Picasso.
“When things go wrong, you want to be sure you can rely on your insurer.”
Honestly, with an old, tired insight like this, what exactly did they expect from their poor creative team. Granted it’s not a Cannes winner here but I think with what they had to work with they did pretty well. If anyone deserves to get ripped into, it’s the client/planner.
leave Picasso out of this…
We’re still not sure you can rely on the insurer!!
The old guy in the yellow shirt might shake his head, say ‘fuck this mess, it’s an act of God…’ and keep walking.
This ad reminds me of that SGIO stuff from the 80s
Why the client’s title almost fall’s off the page is the more pressing issue here..
To be honest, no one is doing anything original in this category here or over east this year. Last years RAC TV campaign was such a ball tearer with a fresh insight, technique and production that I don’t envy anyone having to follow it up. I like the new ads on entertainment value and art direction, but it is a tired insight and the whole 50’s thing feels half way there for me. I think John Waters would have been a better choice of director.
BORING!! Looks like a cheaper version of the Allianz ads! It’s just terrible. And who is the guy with the bad black trousers, belt and god forbid a yellow (tucked in) t-shirt!! What generation are they trying to talk too? Baby Boomers?
The ad came on TV last night and I was sitting with 3 non advertising people (40-54) and everyone commented on how bad it was. Bring back the ‘Relax’ campaign
Fresh? Original??
An insurance ad with a chain of unexpected, albeit humorous events with calamitous effects? I bet AAMI’s agency never thought of that with their recent flock-of-black-swans-freeway-traffic-snarl TVC.
