Pioneering British film production head Mark Herbert to speak at Emergence Creative Festival

Mark Herbert from Warp Films UK will join the leading lineup of creative and digital minds at the Emergence Creative Festival to be held in Margaret River in February.

Herbert (left) is the CEO of the pioneering British film production company Warp Films. Warp’s long list of boundary-pushing work include BAFTA-winning films such as Shane Meadows’ This is England (2006), Chris Morris’ Four Lions (2010) and Paddy Considine’s Tyrannosaur (2011). Furthermore, Warp produced Richard Ayoade’s first feature Submarine (2010), Ben Wheatley’s shocking chiller Kill List (2011), and Peter Strickland’s Berberian Sound Studios (2012) which won four BIFA’s including Best Director. Most recently Mark produced the music documentary The Stone Roses: Made of Stone which follows the iconic band’s reforming in 2012 after a 16-year split.

Warp Films have an Australian subsidiary based in Melbourne, which produced the Cannes-premiering film Snowtown (2011).

He will be presenting a keynote presentation as well as conducting a masterclass at Emergence Creative. The full Emergence Creative Program will be announced this Friday.
