PerthNow unveils new design and layout
PerthNow has today unveiled a new site, accessible on web, mobile and tablet, with a fresh design aimed to drive engagement with local audiences.
PerthNow and The Sunday Times editor Rod Savage said: “This new, bold design will give us improved production tools to break news faster, while new story and rich media templates will enable more creative and visually pleasing delivery of content, engaging our audiences like never before.
“It is underpinned by a ‘live, local and personal’ approach that I am confident will resonate well with our readers.”
As part of the re-design, the site will also launch a new feature called My News, a personalised hub where PerthNow registered users can store articles for later, create section shortcuts and see their browsing history.
“PerthNow and The Sunday Times are committed to bringing West Australians the latest and best local, national and international news and information on any device they choose,” said Savage. “Over the past few months, we are proud to have brought to light the issue of high suicide rates of ‘Fly in, Fly Out’ workers; we’ve also successfully campaigned on issues important to the community such as facilities at the new children’s hospital – and we’ve introduced the popular ‘Coffee with Colin’ initiative where we give our readers a forum to ask the WA Premier pertinent questions.
“In addition to our exclusive and unique editorial content, PerthNow is a gateway for West Australians to receive access to News Corp Australia’s wider network of market leading content from brands such as body+soul, Vogue Australia, Escape and taste.com.au. I encourage all West Australians to jump online and check out the new PerthNow and all that is on offer.”
The site will also feature a new suite of rich media advertising products increasing creative digital options for advertisers to engage with readers.
The Sunday Times and PerthNow managing director Michelle d’Almeida said: “As the state’s leader in digital news, we are further enhancing the relationship we share with our local audiences that will see us continue to keep them up to date with the latest news and issues that matter to them in new, exciting and more personalised ways. This represents our ongoing promise to advertisers to provide creative and innovative environments to connect with their consumers.”
