X Media Lab, one of the world’s most acclaimed and dynamic digital media events, will throw open the minds of a handful of video and social experts from across the US, Australia and India, for a not to be missed Video+Social seminar at Studio Underground at the State Theatre Centre of WA on Friday 28th March.

Set to be the hottest ticket on this year’s digital and business calendar, X Media Lab “Video+Social” is a day of hands-on masterclasses that will teach delegates exactly what they need to know right now to help their brands succeed.

Brendan Harkin, Director of X Media Lab said, “Regardless of industry and irrespective of industry sector and job title, “Video+Social” has something for everyone. It will add value, create clarity and encourage innovation in fields such as media, apps, games and interactive design with relevance for branding agents, marketers and webmasters working on advertising, PR and social media strategies.”

X Media Lab is known for organising value-add events that cover everything from concept development and business matching to distribution and collaboration with world-class professionals. Video+Social is its newest initiative, tailored specifically for Australia’s creative and cultural industries professionals and entrepreneurs. Those attending Video+Social will learn from six handpicked international experts and get the inside track on how to thrive in a world soon to be dominated by video. As well as picking up strategic insights, hints and tips, ticket holders will come away with the very latest news and views currently shaping the digital media and screen industries.

Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said, “We are very excited to welcome X Media Lab “Video+Social” to Perth. We recognise just how important social, video, mobile and online media are to local businesses. Every business needs these skills to succeed so the Video+Social event is very timely and a wonderful opportunity for Perth businesses to make great strides forwards in this area.”

Ian Booth, CEO of ScreenWest said, “Whether you are a producer, an editor, a broadcaster or a writer, there is sure to be something for you at X Media Lab “Video+Social” this March. It is a rare opportunity to learn what you need to know from some of the most experienced names in the field.”

The list of international mentors attending the digital media event, includes James Cameron’s Executive Advisor, Corey Bridges. Bridges also had a hand in launching Netflix and was the CMO and Executive Producer of video game company The Multiverse Network. Damon Berger will also be attending, bringing with him all the knowledge and experience that comes with being a Director of Digital Marketing for 20th Century Fox (working on movies like Avatar and the A-Team). Four other industry experts will join these two prominent figures to offer masterclasses and seminars throughout the day.

The event has secured an impressive roll call of partners including Western Australia’s screen funding and development agency, ScreenWest, the Perth Theatre Trust and the Central Institute of Technology. The Departure of Culture and Arts (DCA) is also deeply involved with Video+Social, as is the City of Perth local government.
