Perth start-ups get helping hand from local brand agency Gurney at Startup Brand School
Startup Brand School is a new initiative by Perth brand agency GURNEY, providing low-cost branding education, advice and consultation to Perth startups.
Having already worked with multiple Perth startups, GURNEY owner and Creative Director Brad Gurney (pictured) said they know better than most the need for much sought after help and marketing expertise when starting a new business.
The monthly brand school aims to help Perth startups to survive and grow and will be held at Perth’s entrepreneurial and co-working hub Spacecubed on St Georges Terrace.
“We love working with startups and have always wanted to provide a service for the members of Perth’s startup scene who couldn’t yet invest in our services or didn’t quite understand how branding would help them survive and grow,” said Gurney.
“Our hope for the Startup Brand School is to educate startups so they’re survival rate will be higher and give Perth even more to be proud of on the international business scene.”
Participants will have plenty of opportunities to ask GURNEY staff questions about their own brands throughout short lectures and workshops. The informative sessions will also be stocked up with freebies so everyone walks away well equipped to grow their business.
According to the ABS, just over half of all startups businesses survive their first four years of business so an initiative like Startup Brand School will hopefully help the other percentage of businesses to stay around and grow.
To register for the first session of Startup Brand School to be held on April 14, 2015 simply visit startupbrandschool.eventbrite.com.au.

Awesome initiative. This is the sort of thing that can help reframe our industry from “agents” to added value for business leaders.
