Scorchers_MADETOUGH_BLOG.jpgThe Perth Scorchers have launched the club’s membership campaign along with a new brand message for the upcoming 2015-16 KFC Big Bash League.

The #MADETOUGH campaign integrates the club’s Members and supporters with the players and focuses on the do-it-tough to do-it-better mentality that the club has become renowned for over the past four seasons of the KFC Big Bash League.

“We wanted to ensure that our fans were an integral part of the campaign to highlight their invaluable contribution to the Club’s success,” said Shay Nasta, GM Commercial, Marketing & Communication. “Being #MADETOUGH is something we feel our Members and supporters will be able to strongly connect with, not only through the performances of the team, but also the common bond of hard work, determination and resilience that is part of Western Australia’s cultural fabric.”

Scorchers_MADETOUGH_BLOG3.jpgThe concept, developed in conjunction with Meerkats, also captures various environmental elements of WA including the intense sun, the cracked soil and the summer breeze. Perth Scorchers (BBL) Head Coach Justin Langer, who has been one of the driving forces in building a culture of hard work and determination around the club, is a fan of the new campaign.

“I really like the #MADETOUGH branding for the Scorchers,” Langer said. “We’re showing that through our actions and people are recognising that we’re tough opposition, we’re tough in preparation, we’re tough to beat at #TheFurnace, we keep scrapping, clawing and winning from all positions. It gives a lot of our Members Scorchers_MADETOUGH_BLOG2.jpgand supporters a lot of heart flutters, we play some close games, but I love the fact we keep fighting hard. Part of fighting hard is to be physically and mentally tough, so it resonates.”

The campaign will also feature across the women’s team in the inaugural WBBL season, with the first match being against the Brisbane Heat on 11 December in Perth. Perth Scorchers (WBBL) inaugural captain Nicole Bolton is a local product who was involved in the campaign and she said it reflected the group’s mentality.

“Tough means getting up at 6am, doing those gruelling gym sessions as a group when it is cold and dark in the middle of winter,” Bolton said. “It’s about preparing as a group and making that hard work come to the fore. You can’t get anywhere without hard work and putting in. This group is definitely built on hard work and commitment to each other and you’ll see that this season.”

Perth Scorchers single memberships start from $45 for juniors and $95 for adults and family memberships from $160. Go to the Perth Scorchers website.
