S1-2016_Share_BLOG.jpgMix 94.5 has started 2016 as it finished 2015 – on top in the first GfK Metro Radio Survey for the year.

The station recorded the same 15% share from S8/2015 to to remain #1 P10+.

Nova 93.7 is snapping at their heels, up 1.7% from Survey 8/2015 to 13.7%.

Hit92.9 is #3 after a 1.1% rise to 10.9%.

There was some encouragement for 96FM, which improved slightly from 7.7 to 7.9% P10+. However the station will probably take most heart from a 3.5% rise in P40-54 to a 13.2% share.

Nova also recorded a big gain in that demo, +5.7% to 16.5% share. However, Mix 94.5 still leads with a 22% share (+2.3%).

After a tumultuous start to the year with Operations Manager Martin leaving the station, 6PR recorded a 0.4% rise overall to a 8.2% share. More importantly, it recovered some lost ground in its core demos, up 2.5% to 14.1% in P55-64, and +1.0% to 17.5% in P65+.

6IX has gone the other way. It slipped -0.2 to 4.3% overall, and -2.5% to 3.4% P40-54 and -0.8% to 9.6% in P55-64. Offsetting those losses to some extent were rises in P10-17 (+0.9 to 2.3%), P18-24 (+1.9 to 2.0%), and P25-39 (+0.8% to 1.2%), although these are not exactly target demos for the station.

Its Breakfast session also took a hit, down 0.7 to 3.4% after John Burgess was replaced with new team Maddie Burke and Tim Gossage for 2016.

Nova 93.7’s Nathan, Nat & Shaun were the #1 commercial Breakfast on 13.3%, just ahead of Mix 94.5’s Clairsy & Kymba on 13.0%.

The good news continued for 6PR with Basil Zempilas and Steve Mills up 2.0% to 11.0 and the #3 position.

Hit 92.9’s Heidi, Will & Woody were up 1.6 to 9.4%, while 96FM’s Carmen & Fitzi also improved slightly, up 0.6 to 7.5%.

But they all trailed ABC720’s Eoin Cameron, who finishes on a winning note. Cameron is retiring at the end of this week health reasons but goes out on top (again) with a 16.2% share.

Cameron also recorded the highest Average Audience of any session with 58,000 while Mix 94.5 had the highest overall Average Audience of 34,000 (P10+).

Nova 93.7 recorded a monster Cumulative Audience of 571,000 P10+. Nova also recorded the highest Cume for any session – 360,000 for Nathan, Nat & Shaun in Breakfast.
