Perth metro commercial TV revenue result better than most but regional WA hardest hit
Figures released on Friday by Free TV Australia show Perth fared better than most markets for commercial networks advertising revenue in the July to December half-year.
Perth was down 2.02% on the corresponding period from the previousyear, bettered only by Adelaide, which was down 1.01% . Sydney took thebiggest hit, down 7.24%, followed by Melbourne on – 4.58% and Brisbane- 4.50%.
But regionally WA was hit hardest, down almost 6.8% for the half. New South Wales fared best down just 0.25%.
Combined, the WA market was down 2.663% to $170,726,575 for the half.
However, 2010 has started brightly with a stronger TV market in January and positive forward bookings being reported.
