IKEA_SlidingWardrobe_sml.jpgMarketforce and 303 both put in a fantastic performance at the national Caxton Awards held tonight at the Hyatt Regency in Coolum. The two agencies showed the rest of Australia that when it comes to newspaper advertising the Perth industry can definitely compete on a level playing field. Both agencies picked up three Caxton Awards each to rank second and third in performance at the newspaper awards. Only DDB New Zealand, with four Caxtons, bettered their performance.

Caxton Chart.jpgMarketforce won two Caxtons for Office of Road Safety ‘Tear’, and theother was for the Association for the Blind ‘Guide dogs can take youanywhere’. 303’s three Caxtons were all for IKEA ‘Sliding Doors’.

Thisyear only 16 Caxtons were awarded across the whole show. It is alsowidely acknowledged that Marketforce were also unlucky not to pick up afourth Caxton for their IKEA ‘Crossword’ ad, which won The WestAustralian Creative Exercise this year.

SapientNitro, Brisbane’s Tourism Queensland ‘Best job in the world’ ad won two Caxtons – and also took out the QuinlivanBlack Chairman’s Award, selected by this year’s jury chairman, Warren Brown, creative partner at BMF Sydney.
