Perth-expat Matt Eastwood returns as The Diamond Skulls Patron; Nominations Extended

Matt Eastwood_2016_BLOG.jpgArguably the PADC’s most accomplished member, Matt Eastwood has agreed to be the Patron of this year’s Diamond Skulls.

Eastwood (Chief Creative Officer of JWT, the world’s largest agency) was the inaugural Diamond Skulls Patron two years ago and awarded the Ultimate Diamond Skull to ‘Diamond’ Dave Donald. He is heading home this year to keynote at the Emergence Creative Festival, so was a natural choice for this year’s Patron.

Eastwood will, again, review all the winners’ portfolios and make his selection of ‘the best of the best’.

This is a massive opportunity to get your work in front of one of the industry’s superstars and to give you the best possible chance, the PADC has extended the nomination period until Sunday, February 12.

Members can nominate as many people as they like, in as many categories as they like. Don’t assume that someone else will nominate an individual you think is deserving, please take a few minutes to do it yourself so that all who should be nominated are.

The Diamond Skulls are PADC Members’ opportunity to be directly involved in deciding who they feel should be recognised for outstanding work over the past year.

PADC Members can nominate as many individuals as they like across all categories by filling out the form here. Remember, nominations close Sunday, 12/02/17.

Unlike traditional craft categories in award shows, The Diamond Skulls will be judged on a portfolio of work created in 2016, rather than a one-off piece.

The Diamond Skulls are free to enter and there are eight categories for the Awards: 

•   Photographer (Noel Holly Award)

•   Director

•   Editor

•   Designer

•   Art Director

•   Copywriter

•   Sound Designer (Dave Upson Award)

•   and new category Composer of the Year.

One Diamond Skull will be awarded in each category to a PADC Member (don’t worry whether or not your nominee is a PADC member at this stage, there’ll be plenty of opportunity for them to join before judging) with the Ultimate Diamond Skull being awarded by the Diamond Skulls Patron to the portfolio of work they consider to be the strongest amongst all the winners.
