Perth automotive advertising program B.A.D. TV sparks interest in the U.S.
Just seven months after Best Automotive Deals aired its pilot episode in June last year, interest in the concept has been expressed by marketers in the U.S.
“The B.A.D. TV model is perfect for the US market” said Chris McCarthy, managing director of B.A.D. TV. “Advertising rates for stations in the States is surprisingly similar to Perth, so there’s huge potential there for B.A.D. TV to fill a gap in the market. A major automotive marketing supplier has approached us to discuss a strategic partnership which would allow us to work with their 4000 strong database of car dealers in the US andCanada.”
McCarthy and his team will fly to San Francisco for the North American Dealer Association (NADA) Conference in February to meet with this and other potential strategic partners.
McCarthy said B.A.D. TV has a similar format to BrandPower and What’s On Sale TV, but caters to just the automotive industry, meaning that unlike its competitors it can target a niche audience.
The interest from the U.S. comes as B.A.D. TV prepares to launch into the Melbourne market in late April, with Adelaide to follow. Plans for entry into other overseas markets including New Zealand are currently in the works.

Sorry Chris, but I don’t see how having only car dealers in the segment targets the audience. Surely the medium and placement target the audience?
Never has a product been more aptly named.
