Painted Dog Research continue to expand, adding large strategic client wins and key new staff
Painted Dog Research continues to grow on the back of large strategic wins both within Western Australia and nationally. With recent wins coming from WA’s commercial sector including Mrs Macs, Kleenheat, the ABN Group and Synergy, as well as a series of significant wins in the social & health sectors from the Cancer Council, Commissioner for Children and Young People, Heart Foundation, Department of Health and the Department of Sport and Recreation, the Painted Dogs are clearly doing something right. Justin Scerri, one of the Principals of Painted Dog said “…we have been the largest privately owned research firm in WA for some time now, but our continued success and expansion to 13 full time consultants servicing local and national clients, possibly makes us the biggest in WA”.
“The reason for our success is that it’s always been about our team. A stable and long-term team is a team that can deliver value to clients by getting a true understanding of what they do”.
Chris Batini reinforced this by adding: “This stability has allowed Painted Dog to expand its extensive Transport portfolio both locally and nationally by adding clients such as Austroads, Main Roads WA and Bikewest to its existing work with the Public Transport Authority. Since our company was established in 2007, our staff turnover has been, on average, 2% per annum. We maintain our team stability by placing high value and investment in our staff. This has seen us become not only the preferred supplier for clients but also the preferred place of employment for many key researchers such as Anna Eden (former National Director of Public Sector at Synovate) who recently joined Painted Dog.
Eden said the vibrant and innovative and passionate way that Painted Dog approaches every clients’ needs was the motivation to join the company.
“A lot of time is spent as a team thinking through the client’s business needs and designing practical and solutions-focused strategies for every client. It’s like working in a big think tank,” said Eden.
Painted Dog plan to continue to do what they have been doing, and never forget the reasons for their success.
“Although we have grown in size, we have stayed true to our brand and what we represent and this won’t change,” said Dr Claudia Amonini. “Chris, Justin and I are a great team and we are lucky to have staff who are not only on brand, but share our passion and drive in doing meaningful work We continue to feel as energised and invigorated as the day we started the company and this largely comes from our internal culture and the passion we share with our clients”.

Congratulations to all at Painted Dog. For such a relatively young company, the list of clients through the Commercial, Social and Government sectors is testament to the submission of relevant and detailed tenders and the ability to focus on your clients needs and to deliver on expected outcomes.
As a WA company, employing local professional people, may you have continued success in the research field in this state and on the national stage and should options internationally present themselves, in that arena as well.
Congratulations Chris and all at Painted Dog. You are obviously doing excellent work.
Claudia and Justin, sensational news – when’s the Melbourne office opening?
