PADC to investigate video footage leak

303MullenLowe_Inside_BLOG.jpgThe Perth Advertising & Design Club has been forced to apologise for a leak of video footage captured within several Perth agencies without the agencies’ knowledge.

The footage was captured by cameras placed within PADC Skulls without the recipients knowledge.

The agencies affected are 303MullenLowe, The Brand Agency, Meerkats, Marketforce and Block.

PADC President Mark Braddock issued this statement this morning:

Last night it was brought to our attention that video footage captured by the PADC was leaked online. This is a very strange and very regrettable happening and represents a major breach of trust our members have placed in us for over 30 years.

Block_Inside_BLOG.jpgThe PADC had placed small recording devices in several gold Skulls awarded over the past few years as a guerrilla digital idea. These recording devices were placed without the agencies knowledge. Footage from these devices has been leaked by a third party much to the embarrassment of the Club.

We are investigating how and why this happened, but we are extremely embarrassed to have betrayed the trust of our membership and agency partners over something that was intended to be an amusing creative exercise.

Of the many hours of footage collected it appears that only a small amount has been leaked and we are confident that this will be the limit of the damage.

Our investigations are continuing and we will be issuing a full explanation to all the agencies involved in the very near future as the details become clearer.

In the meantime we ask any agency that has won a gold Skull over the last four years to please check the statues and get in touch with our Club Manager if you have any concerns.
