PADC to cover travel expenses for the best entry submission to D&AD New Blood from WA
With D&AD bringing its industry-leading talent programme to Australian shores for the first time, the Perth Advertising and Design Club has pledged its support by offering to fly one lucky creative to Sydney to attend the New Blood Workshop.
Developed in partnership with the Glue Society and Google Australia, the Workshop will offer a frenetic, fast-paced industry crash-course for thirty young creatives, taking a project from brief to broadcast in one day. Thanks to the support of the PADC, the WA creative with the best submission will receive fully paid-for flights to attend on the 7th November.
“The PADC is excited to be able to offer a young WA creative the chance to take part in this amazing opportunity,” said Mark Braddock, President of the Perth Advertising & Design Club. “The cost of making the trek over from the West for this type of one-day event often makes young creatives think twice about pursuing these things. If we can do anything to help to level this field then we are happy to do it. We see it as a chance to showcase some of the great young talent in Perth and give them the opportunity to feel connected to the larger national and international creative commercial communications community.”
Paula Taylor, D&AD Representative (APAC), adds, “To echo Tim Lindsay’s sentiments, New Blood relies on the support, passion and generosity of the industry in providing a platform for new creatives to shine. The PADC’s offer is a wonderful example of that spirit and we’re delighted to be able to extend our reach further thanks to their support.”
Students and creatives under the age of 24 can apply for the New Blood Workshop by submitting a 60-second video demonstrating their passion for ‘getting their hands dirty’ to paula.taylor@dandad.org.
Applicants have until Friday 17 October to get their entries in and must be available to attend the Workshop on Friday 7 November 2014.
