PADC Awards: Dia de los Muertos approaches – Early Bird ticket prices close October 1
Dia de los Muertos (the Day of The Dead) coincides with All Saints Day in the Catholic calendar – 1 November, the same as the PADC Awards Night.
Ofrendas (altars) are made in many Mexican homes. They are decorated with candles, flowers, fruit, food and drink – not unlike the PADC Awards night. Sugar skulls are purchased at open-air markets. Placed on the home ofrenda, sugar skulls represent a departed soul to whom prayers are offered.
You cannot buy a PADC skull at any market – Mexican or otherwise. PADC skulls have no price, no bar-code and they are never discounted. Your work has to earn a PADC skull. There is no other way. But winning one may reduce the need for prayer.
Celebrate excellence. Book now for the PADC Awards Night. Early Bird Ticket prices close 1 October, 2013.
When : Friday 1 November 2013 – 6:30pm till late.
Where : Frasers Convention Centre, Kings Park.
