PADC’s 2013 AGM and industry trivia night attracts a full house to The Shed in Northbridge
Perth’s best creative brains got a workout at the PADC’s 2013 Trivia Night and AGM last Thursday at The Shed in Northbridge. 110 of the advertising industry’s finest competed in teams of six for the fantastic grand prize of six 360 Omni Directional Vibration Speakers, kindly donated by PADC sponsor Split Screen.
The night was a great opportunity for PADC members to network with industry peers and mentors, have fun with colleagues and find out interesting facts like the exact weight of a 20 cent piece. Honours went to Southern Cross Austereo (pictured above), who proved that creativity and intelligence are an unbeatable combination. Runner-ups were Split Screen and Digital Dialogue.
PADC President Spencer Battista said it was heartening to see the spirit of camaraderie and good, clean competition. “No apologies to the many who suffered technology withdrawal from the ban on mobile phone use during the quiz. Thank you to the group of members who turned-up early to attend the AGM and hear me talk about all of the great short and long-term initiatives the PADC Committee has planned. Thanks also for exercising your democratic right to vote for current and new Committee members, including honouring me with another year as President,” said Battista.
Current Committee who were re-elected were: Spencer Battista President – Cooch Creative, Mike Sequeira Vice President – 303Lowe, Karen Marks Club Manager – Discerning Women, Blair McLeish Education Representative – Curtin University. Verity Fitzgerald – Verity Productions Producer and Tim Newton Marketing/Communications – Gatecrasher.
Incoming Officers who were elected to the Committee were: Caitlin MacDonald Marketing Strategist – The Brand Agency, Karen Pearce Sponsorship/Funds – Marketforce, Andrew Lang Digital Officer – Digital Dialogue and Katherine Neaves Student Representative – Curtin University.
“Overall, we have an exciting 2013/14 planned as an industry body. I encourage you to get your money’s worth as a PADC member and participate in all the exciting events and professional development opportunities we have coming-up,” said Battista
