One week to go to the unbelievably huge, stupendously magnificent, ‘greatest show on earth’ Night Circus – the 2015 Oasis Ball

NightCircus_BLOG.jpgIf you’re one of the 830 (!) people coming to the 2015 Oasis Ball & Campaign Brief Awards next Friday, here’s a few things you need to know.

Tickets please

By the end of today you or your company’s ticketing coordinator should have received an Oasis Ball pack, which includes:

  • Tickets & table numbers
  • Wrist bands
  • Instructions on how to access the venue on the night. Remember, we are under the Big Top circus tent at the east end of Langley Park (see map below). Entry to the tent will be from the Riverside Drive side but drop-offs need to be on Plain Street or Terrace Road (see map below). You can’t stop on Riverside Drive.

  • UBER instructions. If you need more info on this, please go to the Oasis Ball website)
  • Today is the last chance advise any special dietary requirements

If you haven’t done so already, email Cindy Henderson by COB today. There will be a $20 surcharge for requests/changes after today.

By “dietary requirements”, we mean food intolerances  & allergies, especially those that could cause an anaphylactic reaction. A seafood entrée is planned, so for those allergic to seafood, especially shellfish, an alternate vegetarian entrée will be served.

This is a seriously huge event to cater for, so pleeease help us out and let Cindy know today.

NightCircus_Map_BLOG.jpgThere will be strobe lighting in effect on the night.

Anyone who suffers from epilepsy  / light sensitivity needs to be aware of that. Also loud music. And general revelry. Maybe even some dancing.

    NO WRISTBAND = NO ENTRY

As you enter the tent on the night, Oasis Committee members and security guards will greet you.  As we are in a public place on Langley Park, security will be tight for this event. We cannot let anyone into the tent area without an official Oasis Ball 2015 Night Circus wrist band OR official event staff lanyard. Please make sure that you all have your wristbands on the night. This is a major event and the safety of our guests is paramount.

    Bring some cash

You’ll need some for the Raffle. First prize is 2 x return tickets to Europe, courtesy of Qatar Airways.  $20 for 1 ticket or $50 for 3. Plus you’ll need some $2 coins for our Sideshow Alley, Cocktail Bar, Pamper Palace, Photobooth and much, much more.

    The Silent Auction

Yes it will be there again. Something for everyone including the Chairman’s Wine Selection. Actually there might more than one Selection. Details soon.

    Hey Big Spenders

If you haven’t done so already, check out what’s on offer in the Major Auction. Over $500,000 worth of media packages plus two sensational travel packages. Remember, the Oasis Ball supports the Salvation Army’s Crossroads West program for youth at risk. It’s a great cause run by some unbelievably caring people, and they really need and appreciate our help.

    Get a room

As you can see from the map, Night Circus is opposite the Hyatt Hotel, or nearby there’s the new Fraser Suites hotel, which has a deal for Oasis Ball goers, although we’re not sure if there’s any rooms left (See details here from a previous posting). If you don’t fancy driving home, or want somewhere close by to get ready, these are good options.

    Tread carefully

We’re on the grass. Most of the area will have a floor but some parts will still be grass. Bear that in mind when deciding between your Manolo Blahniks and Jimmy Choos.

    Let’s Party!

So with all that in mind, ‘frock-up’ and get ready to have an amazing time at the 2015 Oasis Ball.  It’s the 20th Ball and it’s been a year in planning so we hope that you enjoy yourselves, and dig deep on behalf of the Salvation Army Crossroads West program.

    See you there!
