50,000 copies of the 40 page mid-week paper will be distributed to commuters, residents and businesses in the CBD. The special ‘Australia Day Edition’ will provide readers with a guide to what’s on for the long weekend and ideas on how to entertain or be entertained. It will also feature a guide to sport on the long weekend including the Big Bash final, plus the latest local news.

The newspaper will be in the hands of commuters just before they make their evening journey and as they start to plan their long weekend ahead.

Editor Rod Savage (pictured), said News Corp saw the opportunity to tap into the mid-week mindset of the Perth commuter.

“It’s great to see Perth’s leading digital news provider extending its reach into a more traditional format mid-week.”

Sales Director Jay Morris said they were very excited to be delivering an innovative product to meet the needs of Perth readers.

“It’s been the result of a huge amount of collaboration between key agencies and clients and reflects our open door policy. The mid-week paper reflects the proactivity of the largest reaching publisher in WA and it’s great to see a digital brand driving print innovation. News Corp would also like to thank and recognise the support of key partners IGA, Crown, Gascoigne Furniture, Holiday Planet, Residential Building WA (part of JWH Group) and John Hughes.

The mid-week paper will also be available from six IGA stores in Northbridge, East Perth, Leederville, CBD, South Perth and Wembley from 2pm.

Following the success of this first edition, News Corp plans to produce the mid-week paper regularly throughout 2016. The paper is being supported with a consumer advertising campaign across radio, print and online.
